HB Public Law is recruiting into their Housing & Civil litigation team. There are a number of live roles at junior and senior levels, reflecting continued growth and demand across the service.
These positions offer genuine progression opportunities and play a key role in delivering high-quality, practical advice to public sector clients through collaborative working.
Housing & Civil Litigation
Available roles:
- Assistant Principal Lawyer | £65,544 - £72,693 (Pay award pending)
- Senior Lawyer/Lawyer | £46,563 - £62,349 (Pay award pending)
We advise and represent clients in a wide range of housing litigation matters, including insurance work, commercial and contractual disputes, injunctions and judicial reviews.
We are experienced in dealing with housing litigation cases from county court level all the way through to the European Court of Justice. We undertake advocacy in contested trials, committal proceedings, tribunal and criminal courts, and have preferential barrister fees through the London Boroughs Legal Alliance.
We work on possession and related claims due to a wide range of factors including rent arrears, under occupation, illegal occupation, nuisance and criminal activities, and tenancies gained by deception. We also deal with criminal and civil actions to tackle housing fraud.
We advise on homelessness issues such as section 204 Housing Act appeals and defending judicial review claims relating to homelessness. We advise on and seek court injunctions including urgent/same day injunctions and anti-social behaviour injunctions (ASBIs) and orders (ASBOs) and those for unlawful use of premises including obtaining exclusion orders and powers of arrest. We also defend and advise on disrepair claims, including quantum.
We offer bespoke and practical training on all areas of Housing Law, and can also provide an advice surgery for initial queries.
